Michael A. Petrillo
Michael A. Petrillo is retired from the police service after serving 25 years with the Belleville Police Department, Belleville, New Jersey. He has worked his way up through the ranks and has served in the following positions: Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, Deputy Chief, Chief and served as Acting City Manager. During his career, he served 15 years in the criminal investigation division. The New Jersey Attorney. General's Police Training Commission presently certifies him as Instructor. He is an instructor with the Essex County Police Academy. He is presently Director of Training and adjunct professor for Del Bagno School for Police Testing (Princeton Educational Research Institute) which is considered the most successful police training school in the United States. He has been instructing and preparing police officers for promotional examinations for over 25 years. Chief Petrillo has co-authored six police– related textbooks and is certified to instruct, process and develop both assessment center type and conventional paper/pencil examinations. He Advanced his police ranking order by scoring number one on every respective civil service examination for which he tested. He advanced from the rank of patrol officer to captain in less than four years. He has authored the following books:
